Every week another list of fifty best AI tools for marketing lands online. The lists are useless for one reason. Nobody runs fifty tools.

A small business marketing team runs three to seven tools, total. The rest is noise. The right question is not which tools exist. It is which small stack actually works together for a small team.

Here is the working stack we recommend at The Igniting Studio in 2026, why each piece is on the list, and what to skip.

The Core Stack

Claude Code. Runs in your folder. Handles all repeated marketing work. Captions, reports, briefs, content production. The foundation of the stack because it holds the brand voice and the past work in one place.

ChatGPT. For one-off thinking. Naming, positioning, sanity checks, quick research. Different runtime than Claude Code, so the two complement instead of compete.

Publer. Scheduling and publishing across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube. One service that connects to everything else. The API is good enough to push posts from your scripts.

Canva. For graphics. Still the right answer in 2026 because the marketing tier is cheap and most small teams already know it.

CapCut. For short-form video editing. Free, mobile and desktop, integrates with TikTok natively.

WordPress with Elementor. For sites that need to ship fast and stay editable by the person who runs the business.

What to Skip

Skip the all-in-one platforms that promise to replace your stack. They never replace it well. You end up running them next to your real tools and paying for both.

Skip the dedicated AI copy tools. Modern Claude Code and ChatGPT do what those tools do, with more control, for less money.

Skip the dedicated social media AI tools that auto-generate posts. The output is generic. The voice is wrong. The schedule looks busy and the engagement does not move.

Skip the agency suites priced for a hundred-person team. They are not built for you. The features you actually need are in three smaller tools that work better together.

What Each Tool Costs to Run

Claude Code. About $20 to $200 a month depending on usage and plan. Most small teams stay under $50.

ChatGPT Plus. $20 a month. Enough for daily one-off use.

Publer. About $30 to $40 a month for a small team and the LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube combination.

Canva Pro. $15 a month.

CapCut. Free for most use. Pro is about $10 a month if you need it.

WordPress hosting and Elementor. About $30 a month for hosting plus a one-time Elementor Pro license.

Full stack runs about $130 a month for a small team. The same work in human hours is multiples more.

What the Stack Lets You Do

Ship a week of content across five platforms in under two hours of human time. Publish a blog post that ranks in Google for a real keyword. Run a competitor audit in five minutes. Produce a monthly client report in twenty minutes. Edit and post a short-form video the day you film it.

None of that requires the all-in-one platform. It requires five small tools that work together, plus a brand voice file that holds the voice steady.

The Mistake That Wastes Money

The mistake is buying the tool before doing the work. Every team we have helped had at least one annual subscription to a tool nobody used. The pattern is the same. Heard about it, sounded impressive, paid for a year, never integrated it into the actual workflow.

The fix is to start with the work. List what you do every week. List what takes too long. Match a tool to the task only if the tool measurably saves time. If you cannot point to the saving, do not pay for the tool.

The Tool That Matters Most

If you can only get one tool to start, get Claude Code. The reason is structural, not preference. The other tools are output channels and design surfaces. Claude Code is the runtime where your brand voice and your past work live. Once that file system is in place, the other tools start producing on-brand work because the foundation is on-brand.

Buy the foundation first. The channels are easier to add later than the foundation is to retrofit.
