Generating a week of social media content by hand is one of the most time-consuming parts of running a marketing business. We used to spend most of Monday on this. Now we spend about 20 minutes reviewing what the system produced automatically.
What the social content workflow looks like
The process starts with a weekly brief covering three things: what we worked on this week that is worth sharing, what is currently trending in our space, and any specific offers or content pieces we want to point people toward.
The brief goes into Claude Code. A skill called weekly-content reads the brief, loads the brand document with all the voice rules and content pillars, and generates seven LinkedIn posts. Each post follows the same structure: a hook, a body that delivers the point without padding, a question or call to action at the end, and five hashtags all lowercase.
The caption generation process
For video content, we pass the video transcript into a caption skill. The skill identifies the core insight the video is communicating and writes a caption that stands on its own rather than summarising the video. A caption that says what the video says is redundant. A caption that opens a different door into the same idea gives the audience a reason to watch AND a reason to save or share the caption separately.
Hashtag research
We do not use the same hashtag set every week. The hashtag research skill checks what is currently active for a given topic and produces a set of five to seven options ranked by relevance and current activity level. We refresh the research every three to four weeks or when we shift content focus significantly.
Scheduling
Once the content is approved, a scheduling call goes directly to Publer through the Claude Code project. The system posts them directly to the scheduling queue with the correct times, the correct accounts, and the correct format for each platform. We do not copy and paste posts one by one.
The time difference
Before this system: 3 to 4 hours per week on content generation alone, not counting research or scheduling. After: 20 to 30 minutes for review and approval. The generation runs while we are doing something else. Over a year, you recover roughly 150 hours of working time that was previously spent on execution.
